Silicone Rubber Insulated Heaters

- The industry standard for heater material - over 50 years track record
- Temperature range from +200ºC (+400ºF) down to -100ºC (-150ºF)
- Flexible; Shapeable before vulcanizing; Can be configured directly onto complex curvatures
- Resistant to most chemicals
- Non-toxic
- Used with both wire and etched foil heating elements
- Standard thicknesses: 0.010", 0.015", 0.026"

Polyimide (Kapton®) Film Insulation

- DuPont Kapton® is a high temperature, amber colored, film used for heaters requiring light weight and quick heating
- Temperature range up to +200ºC (+400ºF)
- Flexible enough to wrap around small diameter tubing
- Compatible with most resins and pressure sensitive adhesives
- Used principally as an etched foil element carrier ply
- Can be used with Kapton®, silicone rubber, or other cover plies
- Thicknesses as low as 0.008"

Low Cost, Low Temperature Insulators

- For many applications below 100ºC (212ºF), heaters can be made using vinyl, polyester, or other plastic cover plies
- Low cost, moisture resistant, flexible, and printable (vinyl only)
- Both wire and etched foil elements can be employed
- Applications include: waterbed heaters, pet terranium heaters, ski boot and glove inserts, personal care heaters, and more
